The complexity and variety of the Argentine cinema still remain unknown in the German-speaking world. In this volume authors from different disciplines and countries focus their analytical sights not only on the illustrious names of the industry, but also on young directors of the so called "New Argentine Cinema". Genres and topics, mechanisms of reception and distribution are discussed just as the aesthetic challenges in reflecting war, dictatorship and democratization in the long 20th century.
